MEDFORD, Mass. - September 18, 2021 - The Dean College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches at a tri-match hosted by Lesley on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs defeated Lesley 3-0 and fell to Framingham State 3-0. 

Mark Ledwich recorded his first win as the Dean head coach. 

The Bulldogs are now 1-5 and travel to Mass. Maritime on Tuesday before hosting their first match of the season on Friday against Elms, which will also be their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener. 

Dean 3, Lesley 0 - 25-8, 25-14, 25-16

The Bulldogs' offense was clicking early and often on Saturday. The team hit .571 in the first set with 10 kills and two errors on 14 attempts. Dean ended the match with a respectable .255 hitting percentage. 

Sari Albury (Nassau, Bahamas) recorded her third match of the season with no errors. She finished with six kills on .667 hitting. First-year Jordan Cournoyer-Herivaux (Pawtucket, R.I.) also tallied six kills and added a match best five aces. First-year Lena Muraski (Manchester, Conn.) collected 10 assists, while sophomore Annabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.) added eight assists. Four players tied for the team lead with three digs apiece. 

Lesley was led by an 8-kill effort from Sydney Hart. She hit .350 and added eight digs. 

Framingham State 3, Dean 0 - 25-15, 25-17, 25-15

The Bulldogs recorded seven kills in each of the three sets, but the Framingham State offense posted an impressive .311 hitting percentage for the match. 

Albury made it four matches in a row without an error. She tallied five kills on .417 hitting to go with her four solo blocks. Jenny Galley (Pembroke, Mass.) also had five kills to go with six digs. Senior Amanda Payne (Millis, Mass.) had a team best 11 digs.
