Women's Volleyball Routs Norwich, Splits GNAC Tri-Match at Lasell

Newton, MA- The Dean College Women's Volleyball Team dominated in their match against Norwich University on Saturday afternoon, winning three sets to none. They finished their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tri-Match with a split, losing to Lasell 0-3. With the split, Dean improves to 3-18 (1-11 GNAC) on the year.

Match One: Lasell University 3, Dean College 0:
The Bulldogs would produce a valiant fight against the defending GNAC Champions, but ultimately came up short in three sets. Junior Olivia Mackinnon (Plymouth, MA) led the Bulldogs offensively, scoring eight kills at the net. Mia Cote (Hopedale, MA) followed closely with six kills of her own. Senior Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, NH) wrapped up the morning with five kills.

Defensively, Skylar Raskevitz (Easthampton, MA) scored seven DIGs in the three sets. Carly Rettberg (Haddam, CT) and Maddie Bell (New Milford, CT) finished behind her, producing five DIGs each. As a whole, the Bulldogs would record 22 DIGs in the match.

Match Two: Dean College 3, Norwich University 0:
After a tough loss in the first match, the Bulldogs returned to the court with vengeance. In the first set, Dean would storm to a 25-3 victory over the Cadets and take the early lead. The 25-3 set victory is their largest margin of victory since September 21st, 2024, when the beat VTSU Johnson 25-8. The recorded a season-high ten service aces in the set, combined with kills from Mackinnon and Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, CT).

Dean would continue their run through the next two sets, winning the match by scores of 25-21 and 25-12. Seymour led Dean in kills with seven, followed by six kills from Cote. Both Seymour and Raskevitz finished match two with five service aces each. Defensively, it would be Seymour again with five DIGs. Cote also recorded five DIGs in the match.
