Chicopee, MA- The Dean College Women's Volleyball team fell in their final match of the season against Elms College by a final score of 1-3. With the loss, Dean concludes the season with a 4-19 (1-12 GNAC) record, while the Blazers finish at 8-17 (1-11 GNAC).
How it Happened:
-The Blazers would take the first two sets of the match, winning by scores of 25-17 and 25-21.
Chloe Demaio (Needham, MA) would lead Dean with two kills in the first set, followed by two additional kills and a block in the second.
-
Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, CT) and
Emma Siniscalchi (Huntington, NY) also posted kills in the opening two sets.
-Dean would make the match closer in set number three, winning by a final score of 25-20. Demaio would return to her offensive ways, complimented by first-year
Mia Cote (Hopedale, MA). Cote also recorded a service ace during the third set.Â
-The Bulldogs would ultimately capitalize on Elms errors in the third set. The Blazers posted 11 errors in the set, nearly half of Dean's total points. It would now by a 2-1 match heading into the fourth set.
-While the Bulldogs rallied valiantly, Elms would comeback in set four and seal the victory by a final score of 25-18. Cote and Demaio continued to lead Dean's efforts offensively, followed by senior
Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, NH).
