BROOKLINE, Mass. - September 16, 2021 - The Dean College women's volleyball team returned to action after a week off with a match against Fisher College held at Hellenic College Thursday evening. The Fisher Falcons earned the 3-0 win by scores of 27-25, 25-15 and 25-12.   

Dean (0-4) will play a tri-match on Saturday at Lesley with Framingham State. Fisher remains unbeaten at 5-0. 

First-year Emily Larouche (Agawam, Mass.) collected two kills and a team best eight digs. First-year Jordan Cournoyer-Herivaux (Pawtucket, R.I.) posted a pair of kills and seven digs, while junior Sari Albury (Nassau, Bahamas) added two kills and two blocks. 

The match began with an exciting first set that saw 12 ties. With the score tied at 24-24, Dean took a one-point lead after a Fisher attack error. The Falcons responded with three-straight points including the set clinching ace by Natalia Ortiz to win 27-25. 

The first several points of the second set went back and forth before Fisher took command after rattling off six consecutive points to take a 12-4 lead. Trailing 18-7, Dean battled back to within six thanks to some great serving by first-year Rae Edwards (Westfield, Mass.) who finished the match with four aces. Fisher was eventually able to stop the run and scored the final four points to win 25-15. 

The Bulldogs scored the first two points of the third set, but Fisher used a 7-1 run to create a comfortable margin and never looked back. The Falcons finished the set and the match on a 9-1 run to earn the victory.
