Standish, Maine – The Dean College Women's Volleyball team dropped both of their contests in their weekend tri-match against St. Joseph's College (Maine) and Nichols College on Saturday. The Bulldogs fell to 0-10 overall, with an 0-2 record in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
Match One: St. Joseph's College 3, Dean College 0
The Bulldogs battled through the first two sets of the match up, staying within a five-point striking distance, before falling to the Monks 3-0. Junior Ariella Sullivan (Middleboro, Mass.) led the team with nine digs, while junior Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, Conn.) finished second with eight while adding a team high seven kills. Senior Emma Siniscalchi (Huntington, N.Y.) picked up seven assists and added two service aces. It was the second conference match up of the season for the Bulldogs, who now sit at 0-2 in GNAC conference play.
Match Two: Nichols College 3, Dean College 1
Dean picked up the first set, with a 25-17 victory in the opening frame, falling in the next three sets to drop the 3-1 non-conference match up. In set one, the Bulldogs established a 15-7 lead midway through the first led by three kills from senior Chloe Demaio (Needham, Mass.), forcing Nichols to call a timeout. Demaio finished with five kills in the set and a total of six throughout the day. Seymour had ten kills on the day, while Sinichasi picked up 14 total assists.
