HOW IT HAPPENED:
Newbury star Hannah Gorham erupted for eight goals and the host Nighthawks shutout Dean College, 21-0, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

Gorham had four goals in each half, while teammate Vanezia Delgadillo had five goals and two assists of her own.

Newbury wasted little time in getting on the board, scoring less than two minutes into the contest and by the time ten minutes had ticked off the clock, they were ahead 5-0.

The Nighthawks settled for a 12-0 halftime score and when Gorham scored her final goal of the afternoon with a little more than five minutes remaining in the game, Newbury was in front, 20-0.

Jamaya Cleveland (Greensboro, Ga.) did all she could in goal for the Bulldogs, finishing with a 12 saves. Meanwhile, Makayla Fisher (Irvington, N.J.) ended with a team-best five shots and three groundballs.
