Women’s Lacrosse Blanked in Road Matchup with Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, 18-0

FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Dean College women's lacrosse team was defeated in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road contest by Saint Joseph's College of Maine with a final score of 18-0. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 0-4 (0-2 GNAC), while the Monks improve to 3-3 (2-0).

How it Happened:
-Dean battled early despite the quick start from Saint Joseph's, working to settle in defensively as the Monks built a 7–0 lead after the first quarter.
-The Bulldogs were able to penetrate in the second quarter, registering their first shot of the contest. Alisha Caldeira (West Bridgewater, Mass.) came close to the goal but just missed wide. Despite being unable to convert, the attempt gave the Bulldogs confidence throughout the rest of the game.
-The Monks closed out the first half with a baker's dozen lead, 13-0.
-In goal, Shea Cassani (Belgrade, Maine) delivered a strong effort under heavy volume. The junior turned aside 17 shots and kept the score from extending further.
-The Bulldogs found more composure in the second half, executing clean clears and limiting extended scoring runs compared to the opening half.
-The Bulldogs finished the game with a perfect 5-for-5 clear ratio, highlighting disciplined execution in transition against sustained pressure.
-Both sides also played a clean game throughout all four quarters. Neither team was given a foul or free position attempt. In Dean's previous three games, they were awarded a combined 10 free position attempts.
-Despite a strong push in the second half, the Bulldogs ultimately fell to the Monks by a final score of 18-0.
