Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women’s Lacrosse Downed in Conference Play by Colby-Sawyer, 19-0

FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Dean College women's lacrosse team was defeated in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road contest by Colby-Sawyer College with a final score of 19-0. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 0-5 (0-3 GNAC), while the Monks improve to 9-0 (5-0).

How it Happened:
-The Chargers opened the game on the charge, scoring seven times in the first frame. Grace Joly and Madeline Knight led the way with two goals each.
-Goalkeeper Shea Cassani (Belgrade, Maine) stayed vigilant, making eight saves on the 18 total shots.
-Colby-Sawyer continued their efforts in the second quarter, leading by just over a dozen at halftime. The Bulldogs set themselves up with opportunities off four ground balls. However, they were rendered shotless throughout the quarter.
-The Bulldogs steadily improved on defense at the start of the third quarter. They held the Chargers to just six shots. Cassani also made two more saves in between the pipes.
-Colby-Sawyer secured the win in the fourth quarter, scoring two more times to take the 19-0 win. Goalkeepers Addison Glavin and Bethany Rose also picked up the combined shutout.
