WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced that Dean College men's lacrosse junior
Manny Alvarez-Segee (Saugus, Mass.) has been named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year, as voted by the head coaches. He was also named to the All-Conference First Team.
In addition, three other players have been named to this year's All-Conference roster. Senior
Shawn Beebe (Groton, Conn.) was named All-Conference Second Team, first-year
Ronan Cafferty (Whitman, Mass.) was named All-Conference Third Team, and
Zach Weigold (Lunenberg, Mass.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship roster.
Recently finishing his third year with the program, Alvarez-Segee turned in the best statistical season of his career. In 16 appearances, Alvarez-Segee posted 61 goals, 36 assists, and 97 total points. The junior also racked-up over 100 shots-on goal while achieving 49 ground ball pickups.
The attacker led all GNAC players this season in goals scored and total points. He also finished in second for assists and total shots taken (165).
In addition to his conference accolades, Alvarez-Segee ranked among the highest in all of NCAA Division III. In 16 games, Alvarez-Segee finished top 10 in Division III total points, top 10 in goals scored, and sixth in goals per game (6.12).
This is the first Offensive Player of the Year honors of Alvarez-Segee's career. He was previously named All-Conference in 2025 and GNAC Rookie of the Year in 2024. This year, he also took home Dean College's Butchie Williams '75 Male athlete of the Year award.
Along with Alvarez-Segee, three other players earned GNAC All-Conference honors. Captain S. Beebe was named to the All-Conference Second Team after an incredible year on defense. The senior played both close defense and LSM, showcasing his dual prowess. In 16 appearances, Beebe also turned in 22 cause turnovers, the most on the team and top 15 in the conference.
LSM R. Cafferty was also named to the All-Conference roster, earning third-team honors. The freshman appeared in 16 games and made 13 starts, generating 18 caused turnovers on defense while scoring two goals and an assist.
This is the first All-Conference distinction of Cafferty's career. He was previously named to this season's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Preseason Watch List.
Finally, Z. Weigold was named to this year's GNAC All-Sportsmanship team. The defender appeared in six games for the Bulldogs this season, posting three ground balls and a caused turnover. In four seasons with the Bulldogs, the senior appeared in 16 contests, posting five caused turnovers and eight total ground balls.
