WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced that
Nick Fernandez (Weymouth, Mass) has been named the conference's men's lacrosse Player of the Week. In addition, the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) has announced that
Manny Alvarez-Segee (Saugus, Mass.) has been named to the regional Team of the Week.
Fernandez, now earning his second Player of the Week honors this season, had another massive week for the Bulldogs. The sophomore attacker totaled 13 points in Dean's pair of wins. This included six goals and seven assists.
The Weymouth, Massachusetts native collected hat trick performances in Dean's respective wins against Colby-Sawyer College and New England College. He currently ranks second in the conference in assists (23) and fourth in points (52).
Meanwhile, Alvarez-Segee takes home the first regional honors of his career. The junior potted 14 total points in the pair of wins, including an even split of goals and assists. He also finished with a shot on-goal percentage (SOG%) of .784.
This season, Alvarez-Segee leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 63 points. This includes 38 goals and 25 assists. He currently leads the GNAC in goals scored and total points.
