Franklin, MA- Shortly after he snapped both program stolen base records, sophomore
Rylan Secovich (Southwick, MA) has now broken the program's single-season hits record. He recorded his 55
th hit of the year in the team's final contest on May 1
st versus Curry College.
The headlines continue to build for the phenom, as he now breaks the third different program record in just 24 hours. On April 30
th, Secovich successfully snapped the program's single-season stolen base record, as well as the program's all-time stolen base record. His 30 single-season and 44 all-time bags are now the new benchmarks in Dean baseball.
This time around, Secovich now passes 2023 alumnus Brian Dovidio (Ramsey, NJ) for the most hits in a single season. His 55
th hit of the year shatters his first-year total of 22 hits, an increase of 150 percent.
In addition to his 55 hits and 30 stolen bases, Secovich also finished 2025 with a .369 batting average, 38 runs scored, 15 extra base hits, and an OBP (on-base percentage) of .429. In the game in which he broke Dovidio's record, Secovich went 2-5 with an RBI.
The Southwick, Massachusetts native was recently named the baseball team's MVP at the Athletics & Recreation Award Ceremony. He was also named to the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Rookie Team in his freshman season.
