Box Score NEWTON, Mass. - April 14, 2021 - The Dean College men's lacrosse team was defeated by Lasell, 19-1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Wednesday afternoon.
Lasell improves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the GNAC. Dean dips to 0-2 overall and in conference play. The Bulldogs travel to Emmanuel on Saturday for a 12 p.m. rematch against the Saints. The two teams battled to overtime last weekend with Emmanuel edging Dean 11-10.
The home team put six goals on the board in the first quarter and followed with four in the second to lead 10-0 at the half. Lasell scored three more times in the third and added six in the final frame to win the game 19-1.
Freshman Diego Alvarez-Segee (Saugus, Mass.) notched the lone goal for the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Damon Shute (Gilford, N.H.) won four faceoffs and picked up three ground balls.
Colby Buccheri paced Lasell with four goals. James Anderson and Andrew Fidalgo added three goals apiece. Tyler Rose had a game best eight ground balls.
Lasell goalie Alex Beauchemin did not allow a goal to earn the win in 45 minutes of action. He made seven saves. Mike Mansfield played the final 15 minutes, allowed one goal and made one stop.
Dean junior goalie Alexander Govoni (Lakeville, Mass.) made 19 saves and allowed 13 goals in three quarters, while sophomore James Rollins (Old Lyme, Conn.) worked the final quarter and had two saves with six goals allowed.
