THE LEAD:
The Dean College Bulldogs split a doubleheader with Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Saturday afternoon, dominating the opening round 3-0 before sputtering in the second game and losing 3-1. 

The Bulldogs won the first match 25-20, 25-22, and 25-19.  They opened the second match with a 26-24 overtime win in the first game, before dropping the next three (25-22, 25-22, 25-17). 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Aaron Brody (Webster, Mass.) led Dean in the opening match win, registering nine kills, nine digs, and four assists. John Kauffman (East Providence, R.I.) had seven kills and 12 digs, while Tyler Martins (East Providence, R.I.) dished out 14 assists and added ten digs.  

Kauffman led Dean with 10 kills and 13 digs in the second game, with Brody chipping in eight kills and ten digs.  Martins had 17 assists and eight digs while Aaron Rivers (Punta Gorda, Fla.) added 11 digs.
