THE LEAD:
Senior Kait Anderson (Clinton, Conn.) finished with 17 kills in the nightcap and host Dean College salvaged a split of two matches on Saturday afternoon in women's volleyball action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Dean dropped the opening match of the day to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) rival Mitchell College, 3-0 as the Mariners won for their third time in their last four games.

Prior to the start of the second match of the day, the program honored the four senior playing in their final home match of the season - Anderson, Taisha Alexandre (Quincy, Mass.), Nicole Defosses (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Melanie Rios-Nevarez (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico).

Anderson was a dominant figure in the second match as the Bulldogs raced past Massachusetts Maritime, 3-1, to sweep the season series.

Defosses ended with 26 digs, while Rios-Nevarez ended with 22 assists and nine digs and Alexandre had two kills, two service aces and three digs.

Marie Harrison led the Buccaneers with ten kills and 11 digs, while Hannah Tarbox chipped in with nine kills of her own.

The Bulldogs will play their final regular season game on Wednesday when they travel to Elms for a 5:00 PM first serve.
