THE LEAD:
Ariana Gordon finished with a team-best nine kills and host Becker College secured a key conference victory, topping Dean College, 3-0, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's volleyball action on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The host Hawks picked up a 25-16 win in the opening set, hammering down 11 kills in their match-best .258 hitting frame.

That set was followed by a 25-18 triumph that saw the score even at 16-16 when Becker ran off six straight points to take command. They put the match away with a 25-12 victory in the final frame.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Senior Kait Anderson (Clinton, Conn.) led the Bulldog attack with a match-best ten kills and eight digs, while classmate Melanie Rios-Nevarez (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) ended with four kills, 13 assists and ten digs.

UP NEXT:
Dean is back in action on Saturday when they host Mitchell College (12:00 PM) and Massachusetts Maritime (2:00 PM).
