THE LEAD:
Emerson College scored two goals in the last 3:43 and the host Lions rallied for an 11-9 win over Dean College in non-league men's lacrosse action on Friday night at Rotch Field.

The win for Emerson snaps the Bulldogs' three-game winning streak and as Dean kicked off a stretch where they will play three games in a six-day span.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After the Lions jumped on the board a little more than three minutes into the contest, Dean answered back to even the score on a Marcus Richardson (Newton, Mass.) strike with help from James Lovely (Hopedale, Mass.) midway through the period.

Emerson then ran off three straight goals over a span of a little more than three minutes before Lovely took things in his own hands with help from Derick Adams (Stamford, Conn.), making the score 4-2 at the first.

The Bulldogs outscored the Lions 3-1 in the second period, sending the teams into halftime knotted at 5-5 as Colin Hinrichs (Greenwich, Conn.) scored twice and Brody Fredericks (Weare, N.H.) provided the equalizer just before the half ended.

Dean actually took the lead briefly in the opening moments of the second half as Lovely again found the back of the net, but Emerson went on another scoring spree – this time scoring four straight in a six-minute stretch on the strength of a goal and two assists from Cameron Radenberg.

Trailing 9-6 to begin the fourth, the Bulldogs rallied, getting unassisted markers from Lovely and Fredericks before Lovely's fourth of the night tied the score at 9-9 with 4:39 left to play.

Emerson, however, got the go ahead strike from Jared Bush with 3:43 left to play and then an insurance tally from Radenberg with 2:03 left to seal the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Lovely finished with a game-high four goals and an assist, while Fredericks and Hinrichs added two goals apiece for Dean.

Emerson controlled the faceoff spot, going 17-for-23 which led to them outshooting the Bulldogs 50-18.

Madison Olsen (Norton, Mass.) turned aside a season-high 19 shots in between the pipes for the Bulldogs.

UP NEXT:
Dean is back in action on Monday when they travel to UMass-Dartmouth for a 4:00 p.m. faceoff with the Corsairs.
