Bulldogs Win Third Straight, 13-3 Over Becker

| Box Score 2

FRANKLIN, Mass.- For the second straight game, the Dean College Bulldogs exploded in the second half to pull away from a NECC conference opponent.  On Wednesday, it was Becker College.  Dean held a slim 5-2 lead at halftime after being held in check for much of the first half by Becker's zone defense.  However, the Bulldogs unleashed for eight second half goals and were able to cruise to a 13-3 victory.

Dean was led by Anthony Trasacco and Colin Hinrichs, both of whom scored 4 goals on the day.  Trasacco scooped 7 ground balls as well.  Marcus Richardson had 1 goal and 3 assists, Ben Sikes had 1 goal and 2 asissts, and Jimmy Lovely added 3 helpers.  Kyle Pucci also had 1 goal, 1 asisst, and 4 ground balls.

An early score in transition from Trasacco gave Dean the 1-0 lead, but Becker responded with a fast break goal of their own from defensemen Joseph Linnehan.  A minute later Dean responded with a goal from Hinrichs on a feed from Richardson, and then 45 seconds later Trasacco added another (with Richardson feeding this one as well).

Pucci scored a man up goal at 5:00 minutes in the second quarter to stretch Dean's lead to 4-1, but Becker counter-punched with a goal from Avyay Chaganty to cut the lead to 2.  Andrew Kydes scored a goal off a faceoff for Dean with under a minute remaning to giving the Bulldogs a 3 goal cushion and some momentum going into halftime.

Kydes was a force for the Bulldogs at the faceoff X, going 15-18 on the day and controlling 10 ground balls.

Dean scored 4 goals to Becker's zero in the third quarter and blew the game open.  Richardson scored unassisted 58 seconds into the quarter before back to back goals from Hinrichs stretched the lead to 8-2.  Rob Johnston rounded out the third quarter scoring with a dunk on the doorstep on a feed from Richardson.

Jake Anderson made 9 saves in the cage on 12 shots, and secured the win.

Chaganty, Linnehan and Blake Gordon scored the goals for Becker.  Michael Krch made 19 saves in the cage.

Dean is now 3-1 on the season and next plays Thomas College on March 16th at home at 3:30.

The loss drops Becker to 0-3 on the year.  They next play home against Gordon on March 15th.
