Box Score Franklin, MASS.- The Dean College Bulldogs Men's Volleyball team fell to Emerson College on Saturday at Pieri Gym, 3-0 in straight sets.
Emerson jumped all over the Bulldogs early. The Lions jumped out to a 12-4 lead and never looked back. A kill from Mark Piorkowski extended the lead to 18-6, as Emerson cruised to a 25-9 first set victory.
The Bulldogs hung tough early in the second set, but Emerson started to pull away midway through the frame. Emerson scored 6 straight points to take a 13-4 lead. The Bulldogs got 2 of the next 3 points to cut into the deficit, but Emerson responded with a 11-5 run to close out the set.
Emerson jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the final set. The Bulldogs battled back and cut the lead to 17-10 midway through the set. Emerson pulled away at the end of the set and scored 5 straight points to secure the match.
Dean was led by Moussa Seck with 2 kills. Logan Muise and Justin Freitas also added a kill. Gabriel McClain had 4 assists. Pepe Veira had 8 digs and Cedric Lewis and McClain both had 6 digs.
Emerson was led by Piorkowski, who had 6 kills and 3 digs. He also added 6 service aces.
Win Kittivatcharapong had 5 kills. Diego Garcia had 10 digs and Nick Rusk had 10 assists.
The Bulldogs will play Emerson again for the next contest, traveling to Boston on Thursday for a 7:00 game. The game will be played at Suffolk University.
