WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced that three Dean College baseball players have been named to this year's All-Conference roster.
Jacob Paschetto (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was named to the All-Conference Second Team,
Tyler Giambra (Prospect, Conn.) was named to the third team, and
Domenic Brazeau (Warwick, R.I.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
This is the first All-Conference selection for Paschetto, Giambra, and Brazeau.
After an incredible senior season, Paschetto was named to the GNAC's All-Conference Second Team. The right fielder appeared in a career-high 37 games this year, starting in every contest. In that span, he batted a career-high .393 at the plate with 59 hits, 38 RBIs, 26 extra-base hits, six home runs, and an on-base percentage of .471. All these marks are career-highs for Paschetto.
In addition, Paschetto led all GNAC batters in extra-base hits while ranking second in slugging percentage (.683). He also ranked amongst the top 10 in six additional offensive categories.
Amongst the most active batters in the conference, Paschetto ranked fourth in ball in-play percentage (87.3%). In other words, Paschetto put just over 87 percent of his at-bats into play, making him one of the most difficult players in the conference to strike out.
Giambra also joined Paschetto amongst those with All-Conference distinction, earning a spot on the third team. In 36 appearances, Giambra recorded 51 hits, 14 extra-base hits, two home runs, 25 RBIs, and six stolen bases. Giambra also pitched in 29 innings, showcasing his two-way prowess.
Within the GNAC, Giambra ranked within the top 10 for batting average (.381). He also ranked within the top 10 in doubles (12). Like Paschetto, Giambra also proved to be a pest at the plate. He struck out less than nine percent of the time, tallying one of the lowest strikeout percentages in the entire conference.
Senior Dom Brazeau was named to this year's GNAC All-Sportsmanship team. A captain for the Bulldogs, Brazeau proved to be one of their most reliable arms this season. In 14 appearances, he made seven starts, pitching in nearly 60 total innings. Brazeau also struck out 45 batters while snagging the first save of his career.
Brazeau's innings pitched (58.2) currently ranks 13
th among all active pitchers at the NCAA Division III level. He is also tied for seventh place in total appearances this season.
