Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – September 4, 2021– The Dean College men's soccer team scored a goal in each half to earn a 2-0 shutout at Lesley on Saturday afternoon.
Dean evens its record at 1-1 and will host Elms on Wednesday in the team's first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match. Lesley falls to 0-2 and travels to Regis on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs broke through in the ninth minute when sophomore Sean Doherty (Chelmsford, Mass.) sent a corner kick towards net where sophomore Bryce King (Athol, Mass.) redirected the ball into the back of the goal for his first collegiate tally.
Early in the second half, Dean doubled its lead with the first collegiate goal by junior Angel Rivera (Atlanta, Ga.).
The defense and senior goalkeeper Bryce Antoch (Cranston, R.I.) did the rest to preserve the clean sheet. Antoch finished with three saves in the win.
Josiah Williams allowed two goals and stopped five shots for Lesley.
Dean held a 14-7 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
