Jake Godwin (Norwalk, CT), taking the early 1-0 advantage over the Bulldogs.
-Saint Joseph's would continue on the attack throughout the remaining duration of the first half. They would have eight additional shots near the goal, but all were stopped by Godwin. On the other side, Dean would their first chance of the game in the 39th minute on a corner kick. However, the Monks' defense prevailed, keeping it 1-0 through the rest of the opening half.
-In the opening minutes of the second half, Saint Joseph's would quickly down the offensive side of the field. They would secure a corner kick in the 47th minute, eventually securing their second goal a minute later. Bishop netted his second, assisted by Nick Marion, to give the Monks the 2-0 lead.
-The fire had been sparked within the Bulldogs not long after the goal. Dean marched down into attacking territory, grabbing two quick shots from freshman
Felipe Castillo (Tampa, FL). Dean would also have two corner kicks in that span, keeping the pressure on the Monks' defense.
-In fact, Dean would have a total of five corner kicks in the span of ten minutes (57th-67th). The barrage concluded with a lone shot from senior
Seamus Doherty (Chelmsford, MA). However, after all the chaos, the score remained 2-0 Saint Joseph's.
-With Dean putting on the pressure, the Monks secured their insurance in the match's final moments. They would score two goals within 12 seconds of each other to take an emphatic 4-0 lead. With the two goals in the 87th minute, the Monks would go to win the match by the 4-0 final score.
