THE LEAD:
Hannah Corrigan
saw her third goal of the game sneak over the goal line just 22 seconds into overtime and visiting Mitchell College rallied to stun host Dean College 12-11 in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's lacrosse action on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
In a contest that saw six lead changes and five ties, Dean found itself trailing 10-8 after Francesca Pinard buried a free-position shot with exactly 18 minutes left to play.

The Bulldogs mounted a rally beginning with a goal from Lauryn Wilks (Hartford, Conn.) and then, with less than five minutes to play, Shania Springer (Bayshore, N.Y.) notched her second of the afternoon to tie the score.

Dean moved in front when Makayla Fisher (Irvington, N.J.) made an end-to-end sprint and buried the go-ahead goal with 4:34 left to play.

Mitchell was able to even the score with less than two minutes to go when Lindsay Fairbank registered her game-high fifth marker of the afternoon with 1:18 left.

The Bulldogs actually had an opportunity to retake the lead when Wilks had a free-position shot with 11 seconds left but her attempt sailed just wide sending the game into overtime.

Mitchell opened the contest by getting a free-position strike from Pinard less than 30 seconds into the game. Dean responded with three straight goals courtesy of two from Wilks and another from Fisher.

Horrigan evened the score with two straight goals before Rocky Cabral (Dorchester, Mass.) gave the lead back to Dean.

Fairbank recorded her first of the afternoon but moments later, Fisher and Springer both found the back of the net and the Bulldogs settled for a 6-5 halftime lead.

The Mariner combination of Fairbank and Pinard had Mitchell off and running to start the second half as that duo scored four straight goals to give the Mariners a 9-6 advantage.

Wilks and Fisher did inch the Bulldogs closer before Pinard added another ahead of Dean's three-goal outburst that gave them an 11-10 lead in the waning moments of the first half.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Mitchell got all of their scoring from three players – Fairbank (five), Corrigan (three) and Pinard (four). Pinard also had a dominant effort getting draw controls, collecting a game-best 12.

Dean, meanwhile, got four goals from both Fisher and Wilks and two more from Springer to go along with six ground balls.

UP NEXT:
The Bulldogs wrap up their 2018 season with a road trip to Bay Path on Saturday while the Mariners host Southern Vermont on the same day.
