Box Score FRANKLIN, Mass.- After battling for the first half and trailing only 5-2 at halftime, the Dean College Bulldogs were overpowered in the second half by visiting St. Josephs (CT), losing 13-2 on Thursday at Grant Field. The visitors rattled off 9 straight goals to secure the victory and improve to 3-3 on the season.
Dean trailed 4-0 early after 2 goals a piece from Vicky Thai and Hannah Lemek. The Bulldogs answered with 2 goals from Kim Dickson and Kirsten Jobst, both unassisted. The game remained scoreless for the next four and a half minutes before Diamond Wallen found the back of the net for the Blue Jays with 30 seconds remaining in the half, giving St. Josephs a 5-2 lead at the break.
St. Joseph's came out for the second half on fire. They scored three goals in the first four minutes to extend their lead to 8-2 and never looked back. Thai and Lemek both scored one and Lindsy Hurlbert added another on a free position shot.
Lemek finished the day with 5 goals and 2 assists, while Thai had 3 goals. Five other Blue Jays contributed a goal.
Dean was led by goals from Dickson and Jobst and 10 saves from goalkeeper Madison-Bailey Felton.
The Bulldogs next play at Rivier on Monday April 17th. St. Joseph plays Norwich at home on Saturday.
