Box Score AUBURN, ME.- Led by Dayvon Russell's 26 point effort, Dean College pulled away from Central Maine in the second half for a 97-85 win. Justin White added 18 for the Bulldogs while Naquwan Solomon finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
After trailing 44-43 at the break, Dean outscored Central Maine 54-41 in the final half to pull away from the Mustangs. Trailing 49-47 with 18 minutes remaining in the game, the Bulldogs unleashed a 15-0 run to push their advantage to 62-49. They never trailed again.
Central Maine cut the lead to 6 with 7:32 remaining, but the Bulldogs responded. Kendall Hamilton capped the run with a 3 pointer at 3:04 to push the Bulldogs lead to 11 (85-74) and keep the Mustangs at bay.
Russell scored 19 of his 26 points in the second half and also added 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals to an impressive stat line. Hamilton scored 8 points on 3 of 7 shooting, Randolph Thruman finished with 9 points and 5 assists, and Jaquan James provided a boost from the bench with 9 points on 3 three point field goals.
The Bulldogs shot 52% percent from the field and 39% from beyond the arc. Dean outrebounded the Mustangs 36-24.
