NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Dean College men's basketball team was defeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday evening by a final score of 104-67. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 15-9 (5-6 GNAC), while the Falcons improve to 17-7 (9-2 GNAC).
Notables:

Xavier Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) scored a season-high 19 points in the loss. This was his highest single-game total since joining the Bulldogs last winter.
How it Happened:
-Dean climbed into the box score first with a successful jump shot from junior
Donnary Fontenot (Atlanta, Ga.).
Izayah Porter (Jonesboro, Ga.) also grabbed an assist in the effort.
-However, the Falcons boastfully responded. They went on a 10-0 run, including scores from Avery Hinnant and Lennox Serrano.
-Albertus' response prompted stampedes from both sides. After their 10-0 run, the Bulldogs proceeded to score nine consecutive points. This included three-pointers from Fontenot, Porter, and guard
Naser Motley (Everett, Wash.). Suddenly, Dean once again had the lead, 11-10.
-Right after Dean's turn, Albertus scored another nine consecutive points, taking a 19-11 advantage. Dean quickly broke the chain, though, with a score from Fontenot.
-Despite the Bulldogs' continued efforts on offense, Albertus continued to hold the first half lead. They went into the locker room with a 45-32 advantage.
-The Falcons opened the second half with another strong run, scoring 12 points combined to Dean's three. Senior
Randy Vasquez (Methuen, Mass.) had all three of Dean's points to start the new half.
-Rubio would lift the Bulldogs' attack in the second half. He scored an impressive 14 points in 16 minutes. He also shot 6-16 from the field.
-However, the Falcons continued to march on. They eventually saw a lead as high as 35 points while shooting nearly 56 percent from the field. They also had 25 second-chance baskets, showcasing their presence in the paint.
-Albertus took the game with a final score of 104-67.
