MILTON, Mass. – First-year goalkeeper
Chloe Murdock (Milford, Mass.) made 15 saves in her collegiate debut to help the Dean College women's soccer team secure a scoreless draw against Curry College on Thursday night. With the draw, the Bulldogs move to 0-1-1 while the Colonels slide to 1-0-2.
How it Happened:
-Murdock quickly found her way into the match, securing a trio of saves after Curry rattled off three straight shots. The freshman made five saves in the first twenty minutes, holding the Curry attack at a standstill.
-Senior
Lainey Buffington (Plainfield, Conn.) recorded Dean's first shot of the game in the 35
th minute, forcing a save by goalkeeper Emma Waldeck.
-After another save by Murdock, both sides were rendered scoreless after the first half of action.
-The Bulldogs picked up the pace to start the second half.
Kenzie Sherburne (Durham, N.Y.) and
Makenzie Sparacia (Old Westbury, N.Y.) propelled two shots, but both were stopped by Waldeck.
-Murdock continued to impress in her debut, making eight additional saves in the second half. This included two high-pressure stops in the final ten minutes of the match.
-Dean and Curry traded blows in the final moments, but both sides finished the match with a 0-0 final score.
