WESTON, Mass. – The Dean College women's soccer team was kept off the board in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup with Regis College by a final score of 3-0. With the loss, the Bulldogs dropped to 1-5-1 overall (0-2-0 GNAC), while the Pride improved to 5-0-1 (2-0-0 GNAC).
How it Happened:
-Dean and Regis played through a scoreless opening 45 minutes, with the Bulldogs' defensive unit keeping the game within reach.
Kassidy Martins (East Providence, R.I.) made a defensive save in the 20th minute to deny a Regis header, while goalkeeper
Chloe Murdock (Milford, Mass.) made two saves in the opening half.
-Regis broke through just 3:46 into the second half. Julia Benvegnu headed home a pass from Sienna Santiago to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
-Regis doubled its lead in the 58th minute as Santiago finished a pass from Sofia Torres. Murdock continued to battle in goal for the Bulldogs, making saves on chances from Audrey Morris and Santiago during the second half.
-Leah Snyder added Regis' third goal in the 65th minute, converting a pass from Mia Carll. The Bulldogs continued to defend against sustained Regis pressure while Murdock finished the afternoon with four saves.
-Dean created its best offensive opportunity in the final minutes of the contest.
Sarah Fortin (Unionville, Conn.) put a shot on target in the 84th minute, but Regis goalkeeper Alison Jerram made the save to preserve the shutout.
