FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The Dean College women's soccer team was defeated on Wednesday night, falling to Framingham State University on the road by a final score of 2-0. With the loss, the Bulldogs dropped to 1-3-1, while the Rams improved to 2-1-0.
How it Happened:
-The Bulldogs battled through a scoreless first half, but Framingham State controlled much of the possession and generated 10 shots.
Chloe Murdock (Milford, Mass.) made five saves in the opening 45 minutes to keep Dean within striking distance.
-Dean created its best opportunity early in the second half when
Agata Markuns (Boxford, Mass.) earned the Bulldogs' lone corner kick of the night.
-Framingham State broke through on the score sheet in the 59th minute. Hailey Ring scored the goal to give the Rams a 1-0 advantage.
-The Rams doubled their lead in the 69th minute as Sarah Bashore converted a pass from Beyonce Gray.
-Dean continued to battle late, with
Izzy Robinson (West Warwick, R.I.) putting the Bulldogs' lone shot on target in the 69th minute. However, Framingham State goalkeeper Amelia Finley made the save.
-The Rams held onto their lead for the final whistle, taking the 2-0 victory.
