Men’s Lacrosse Shovels New England College in GNAC Play, 19-6

HENNIKER, N.H. – The Dean College men's lacrosse team found the win column once again, taking down New England College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action by a final score of 19-6. With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 6-5 (3-4 GNAC), while the Pilgrims sank to 1-9 (1-6 GNAC).

How it Happened:
-Dean came out dominant in the first quarter, jumping out to an early lead behind goals from Manny Alvarez-Segee (Saugus, Mass.) and Kyle Pianka (Greenville, R.I.), setting the tone offensively.
-The Bulldogs controlled possession early, with Josh Hackett (Orange, Conn.) winning faceoffs and creating extra opportunities, while Alvarez-Segee facilitated the offense.
-Dean continued to build momentum late in the first, with Erickson finishing off a feed from Alvarez-Segee to extend the lead.
-In the second quarter, the Bulldogs broke the game open with a dominant scoring run, as Connor McCarthy (Whitman, Mass.), Nick Fernandez (Weymouth, Mass), and Shawn Beebe (Groton, Conn.) all found the back of the net.
-C. McCarthy added another goal during the stretch, helping Dean push its lead to 10–2 at halftime.
-Dean carried that momentum into the third quarter. Joseph Marra (North Branford, Conn.) converted on a man-up opportunity off a setup from Gavin McCarthy (Whitman, Mass.), showcasing the Bulldogs' efficiency on extra-man chances.
-C. McCarthy continued his strong performance with multiple goals during the middle quarters, while Alvarez-Segee remained a constant offensive threat.
-Defensively, Dean tightened up in the second half, limiting New England's scoring chances and forcing turnovers, with Beebe and Colby Mahoney (Southbury, Conn.) contributing on the defensive end.
-In goal, David MacNeil (Whitman, Mass.) made key saves when called upon, helping maintain the Bulldogs' commanding lead.
-The Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas in the fourth quarter, as McCarthy, Fernandez, and Aaron McDonald (Weymouth, Mass.) added goals to cap off the offensive performance.
-Dean's balanced scoring, dominance on faceoffs, and strong defensive effort throughout secured the 19–6 victory.
