FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Dean College men's lacrosse took a lopsided victory on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Colby-Sawyer College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action by a final score of 28-1. With the win, Dean moves back to .500 on the season (5-5, 2-4 GNAC), while the Chargers drop to 0-5 (0-5 GNAC).
Notables:
-Three Dean players scored their first career goals in the win:
Colin Brady (Bennington, Vt.),
John Scherer (Norwich, Vt.), and
Ronan Cafferty (Whitman, Mass.).
How it Happened:
-Dean had their highest scoring frame of the season to begin the game. They scored 13 unanswered goals, led by a pair of goals from
Manny Alvarez-Segee (Saugus, Mass.) and a hat trick from
Nick Fernandez (Weymouth, Mass.).
-Ten different Dean players scored goals in the first quarter, including the first career goal for Cafferty. Five of their 13 goals were also unassisted.
-In the second quarter, Dean scored six more goals, highlighted by a pair of tallies from
Connor McCarthy (Whitman, Mass.)

In this frame, Scherer and Brady, both first-year players, netted their first career goals.
-Colby-Sawyer's James Masterson got the team on the board with 31 seconds remaining in the half.
-Throughout the second half, Dean scored nine more unanswered points. Eight different players scored in the half, with
Kyle Pianka (Greenn field, R.I.) recording a pair of goals.
-All three Dean goalkeepers saw action throughout the game.
David MacNeil (Whitman, Mass.) got the win, playing the first quarter while making one save.
Elijah Beland (Augusta, Maine) played in the second and third, making a trio of saves. First-year
Tyler Sulkala (Norwood, Mass.) finished the game in-goal, making his first career saves (2).
