FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Dean College men's lacrosse dominated their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup with Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday afternoon. The team took the win by a final score of 23-3 and improved to 8-5 (5-4 GNAC). Meanwhile, the Falcons dropped to 5-9 (2-7 GNAC).
Notables:
-With the GNAC win, the men's lacrosse program secured a berth into this year's conference championship tournament. This is the fifth consecutive postseason appearance for the Bulldogs.
How it Happened:
-The Bulldogs boomed into the box score throughout the opening minutes, scoring 11 unanswered goals in the first quarter.
Kevin Gardner (North Branford, Conn.) scored the game's first point, followed by goals from
Nick Fernandez (Weymouth, Mass.) and
Connor McCarthy (Whitman, Mass.).

Manny Alvarez-Segee (Saugus, Mass.) had an impressive opening quarter. The junior posted a hat trick with an assist to help the Bulldogs add additional insurance.
-Long-stick midfielder
Ronan Cafferty (Whitman, Mass.) also scored his second goal of the season in the opening quarter.
-Dean added two more goals in the second quarter, including a pair of goals from Alvarez-Segee.
Kyle Pianka (Greenville, R.I.) also found the back of the net.
-Albertus Magnus scored their first goals in this quarter. Nick Longo and Marcus Burrows scored to bring them closer to striking distance. However, at halftime, Dean had a commanding 14-2 lead.
-Alvarez-Segee completed his sock trick in the third quarter, while C. McCarthy and
Marc Sauchuk (Uncasville, Conn.) each scored a pair of goals. Burrows also netted Albertus' third goal of the game.
-The Bulldogs continued to thwart Albertus in the fourth quarter with a pair of saves.
Elijah Beland (Augusta, Maine) and
Tyler Sulkala (Norwood, Mass.) saw action after David Macneil (Whitman, Mass.) initially started the game.

Jimmy Erickson (Derry, N.H.) gave Dean one more goal in the fourth to secure the 23-3 victory for the Bulldogs.
