Six-Goal Third Quarter Powers Men’s Lacrosse Past Regis, 12-10

WESTON, Mass. – The Dean College men's lacrosse team jumped back into the win column on Saturday afternoon, scoring six goals in the third quarter to defeat Regis College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 3-5 (1-4 GNAC), while the Pride drop to 3-2 (2-1 GNAC).

How it Happened:
-Dean faced early pressure in the first quarter, as Regis jumped out to a 5–3 lead. However, the Bulldogs stayed composed, with Manny Alvarez-Segee (Saugus, Mass.) and Nick Fernandez (Weymouth, Mass.) each finding the back of the net to keep the deficit manageable.
-At the end of the first frame, Dean trailed by the Pride by the 5-3 score.
-The Bulldogs continued to grind through the second quarter, working to extend possessions and generate quality looks. Gavin McCarthy (Whitman, Mass.) helped orchestrate the offense, while Dean's defense focused on limiting second-chance opportunities.
-The score was 7–4, with Regis remaining in front at halftime.
-Coming out of the break, Dean delivered a game-changing third quarter, completely shifting momentum with a six-goal outburst.
-Alvarez-Segee ignited the run with aggressive attacking play, consistently getting to dangerous areas and finishing chances, while Fernandez created opportunities both as a scorer and facilitator.
-The Bulldogs showcased their depth during the surge. Connor McCarthy (Whitman, Mass.), Jimmy Erickson (Derry, N.H.), and Marc Sauchuk (Uncasville, Conn.) each contributed key goals to turn a deficit into a lead.
-Dean also capitalized on special teams during the stretch, executing efficiently on extra-man opportunities to extend the advantage and keep pressure on the Regis defense.
-In goal, sophomore MacNeil (Whitman, Mass.) came up with five timely saves in the second half, helping Dean maintain control as momentum swung in their favor.
-Regis made a push in the fourth quarter, trimming the lead to just two points. However, Dean responded with several cause turnovers in their own zone to thwart their offense.
-Dean's ability to dominate the third quarter and execute in key moments down the stretch proved to be the difference in the 12–10 victory. They held on through the final minutes of the fourth to seal their winning fate.
