Porter Nets 34 Points in Swift Victory Over Chargers, 104-74

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Izayah Porter (Jonesboro, Ga.) displayed a career performance on Saturday afternoon. The junior scored 34 points and seven steals en route to a 104-74 victory over Colby-Sawyer College.

With the win, Dean improves their win streak to nine games and is 13-3 (3-0) on the year. Meanwhile, the Chargers dropped to 1-14 (0-2).

How it Happened:
-The Bulldogs marched onto the scene in the first minutes. The offense opened the score with a 12-4 run, including baskets from all five starters. Randy Vasquez (Methuen, Mass.) scored the game's first bucket.
-The Chargers made it a game halfway through the first period. With 8:31 to play, Tobey Bellows converted on a layup, cutting the Bulldog lead to just three points.
-Three minutes later, the Chargers would tie the game at 31. Bellows struck again on a three-point shot and kept Colby-Sawyer's offense alive.
-However, Porter led the Bulldogs on a strong run to end the first half. He would score eight points in the final four minutes, giving Dean the 43-35 advantage at halftime.
-The second half was defined by Bulldogs' offense. Dean outscored the Chargers 61-39 and shot 47 percent from the field. They also shot nearly 30 percent from beyond the arc.
-Porter put on a clinic in the second half, scoring an impressive 23 points with consecutive steals.
-Christian Yeates (Atlanta, Ga.) and Donnary Fontenot (Atlanta, Ga.) would also play strong roles in Dean's second half push.
-Dean's reserves would enter in the game's final moments and continue to produce. Cooper Smith (Boulder, Colo.) would lead the way with a swift three-point shot. Jay'len Lovejoy (Springfield, Mass.) would also have three points in the latter minutes.
-In the end, Dean would be victorious by a final score of 104-74.
