NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Dean College women's basketball team fell to Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play by a final score of 82-55. With the loss, Dean drops to 5-10 (0-2), while the Cadets improve to 5-8 (1-0).
How it Happened:
-Norwich opened the scoring with a dominant 21-9 first quarter. It was a balanced effort by all Norwich starters, eventually setting the tone for the second quarter.
-
Kendrah Doane (New Salem, Mass.) and
Abigail Lacy (Arroyo Grande, Calif.) started the scoring for Dean. Lacy led the efforts down low, while Doane set the pace from beyond the arc.
-Dean turned it around in the second quarter, scoring twelve additional points. They also kept pace with Norwich, who finished the quarter with 17 points.
-
Jordan Ellis (Bridgeport, Conn.) got involved in this quarter, contributing on both ends of the court.
-At the end of the first half, Norwich led the Bulldogs by a score of 38-21.
-The Bulldogs continued their upward trend throughout the second half. They scored 18 points in the third quarter, followed by 16 points in the final frame.
-Norwich would have a slight edge over Dean in the latter half, outscoring Dean by ten points in the final two frames (44-34).
-In the end, it would be the Cadets who were victorious. They grabbed their first conference win of the season by a final score of 82-55.
