Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Motley Scores Career-High 28 Points in Road Victory vs Cadets, 74-66

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Dean College men's basketball team continued their winning ways on Wednesday evening, defeating Norwich University by a final score of 74-66. With the victory, the Bulldogs advance to 12-3 overall (2-0), while the Cadets drop their first conference game this year (5-9, 0-1).

How it Happened:
-The Cadets went on a small run to open the game's scoring. Their 5-0 run set the initial pace of the first half, including baskets from Jordan Rickets and Michael Ndayishimiye. Naser Motley (Everett, Wash.) ended that run with a layup of his own.
-Motley, in conjunction with Xavier Boyd (Loganville, Ga.), constructed Dean's quick comeback. Motley had Dean's first four points, followed by four additional points by Boyd. After a three-point play by senior Xavier Rubio (San Diego, Calif.), the Bulldogs snatched the 11-8 lead.
-Rubio's shot was a part of a 14-0 run the Bulldogs orchestrated in the middle of the first half. Dean would see a lead as high as eight points before Norwich returned to the scoring fold.
-The Bulldogs continued their scoring through the latter minutes of the first half. They went into the locker room leading the Cadets by 11 points (33-22).
-Motley had a stunning first half, posting 13 points and a block.
-Norwich came out of the locker room with a stronger second half. They outscored the Bulldogs 44-41 in the final frame.
-However, Dean held onto their position and maintained their lead in the second half. Motley continued his dominance, scoring 15 more points in the second half, concluding a career-high performance.
-Christian Yeates (Atlanta, Ga.) and Izayah Porter (Jonesboro, Ga.) also became factors in the second half. Yeates picked up a trio of assists, while Porter scored five more points.
-In the end, the Bulldogs picked up their second conference win of the season by a final score of 74-66.

-Motley (28 Points, 5 Rebounds, Block)
-Yeates (7 Points, 7 Rebounds, 6 Assists, 4 Steals)
-Randy Vasquez (Methuen, Mass.) (7 Points, 9 Rebounds)
