Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women's Volleyball Finishes Strong in Bonnie May Tournament; Defeats VTSU Lyndon 3-0

Northampton, MA- The Dean College women's volleyball team competed in the 2025 Bonnie May Invitational Tourmament this past weekend, hosted by Smith College. Of the three matches the team played, they took one win. Dean fell to both Smith and Vassar College, but walked away with a victory against VTSU Lyndon. The Bulldogs now hold a 1-4 record after the tournament

Match #1: Smith College 3, Dean College 0
The Bulldogs did their best to hold off the nationally-ranked Bears, but ultimately grabbed the short end of the stick. Smith would take the victory by a final score of 3-0, winning each set 25-16, 25-21, and 25-13. Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, CT) would lead Dean in kills, racking up six in the match. Chloe Demaio (Needham, MA) would follow closely with three of her own. Skylar Raskevitz (Easthampton, MA) would record nine digs in the first match of the tournament. 

Match #2: Vassar College 3, Dean College 1
Although Vassar ultimately took the match, the Bulldogs rallied hard throughout all four sets. Vassar took the first set 25-12, including strong points from Seymour and first-year Mia Cote (Hopedale, MA). Dean stormed back in the second set, taking Vassar to sudden-death and winning 26-24. Cote setup the winning point, which was eventually secured through an attack error. However, after two additional set wins by Vassar, they would walk away victorious, 3-1.

Match #3: Dean College 3, VTSU Lyndon 0
Dean wiped the floor in their final match of the weekend, sweeping the Hornets 3-0. They won all street sets by scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-10. Demaio led the attack efforts with seven total kills, followed by Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, NH) with five and Katie Jones (Franklin, MA) with four. Defensively, Maddie Bell (New Milford, CT) grabbed 12 digs for the Bulldogs. Jones also secured four digs in her efforts.
