Fitchburg, MA- The Dean College football team fell in their week one contest versus Fitchburg State University by a final score of 14-49. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 0-1 and 0-1 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play, while the Falcons move to 1-0 (1-0 MASCAC).

How it Happened & Scoring Summary:

1st Quarter - 13:02 
The Bulldogs came out of the box swinging. Their first defensive efforts were extremely aggressive, getting to the quarterback and applying pressure. Veteran Jerney Price (San Antonio, TX) grabbed a tackle for loss, while Jayden Gaines (Norfolk, VA) came inches from an interception on the 2nd play of the drive.

1st Quarter – 9:23 
Fitchburg State wasted no time setting the tone early in the game. Running back Anthony Oquendo found a seam and charged through Dean's defense for a 15-yard touchdown run. It was a physical, decisive play that capped off an efficient opening drive. Jonah Costa split the uprights on the extra point, putting the Falcons up 7–0.

1st Quarter – 0:00 (End of Quarter)
As the first quarter came to a close, Oquendo struck again. This time, he broke free for a 27-yard rushing touchdown. Another successful PAT by Costa pushed Fitchburg State's lead to 14–0.

2nd Quarter – 14:54
Quarterback Rocky Marchitelli dropped back and launched a 25-yard strike to wide receiver Peter Norton in the back of the end zone. The Falcons now led the ballgame 21-0 with less then ten minutes remaining in the half.

2nd Quarter – 6:55
After being pushed back into the red zone again, Luke Thompson of Fitchburg found the end zone, scoring with a 4-yard run. The Falcons now led 28-0.

2nd Quarter – 4:20
Right before the end of the half, quarterback Nick Levine (Brockton, MA) engineered a strong drive downfield, capped off by connecting with Steven Torchon (Dover, DE) for a 3-yard touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone. Kicker Pato Flores (San Antonio, TX) knocked through the extra point to put Dean on the board. Going into the locker room, the Bulldogs trailed 28-7.
