Milton, MA- The Dean College men's soccer team came back in their under-the-lights matchup with Curry College. A goal in the final ninety seconds secured the 4-4 tie. With the result, the Bulldogs move to 0-1-1 on the year, while Curry moves to 1-1-1.
How it Happened:
-Dean wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in the 2nd minute of the game.
Brian Allen (Fort Lauderdale, FL) netted the goal, putting Dean in front 1-0.
-Six minutes later, the Bulldogs struck again. Sophomore
Ethan Henderson (Hartlepool, England) scored Dean's 2nd goal of the game, advancing the score to 2-0.
-The match would stand still for the next 20 minutes, with both sides containing neutral play at midfield. However, in the 28th minute, Curry would score their first of the match, cutting the Dean lead in half.
-Curry's first goal would start a three-goal rally by the Colonels, all unanswered. They would score again in the 39th minute, followed by the go-ahead goal to open the 2nd half. All of a sudden, the Bulldogs would find themselves down 3-2.
-In the 56th minute, Dean finally had its answer. First-year
Felipe Castillo (Tampa, FL) scored in a hurry, tying the game once again at three.
-Less than a minute later, the Bulldogs took the lead again. Ayomade Talabi (Halilton, NJ) rushed to the net and found the goal, giving Dean the 4-3 advantage.
-The match seemed to be in Dean's hands. However, in the 88th minute, Curry secured a penalty kick. This allowed them to score once again and secure a tie. The match ended with a 4-4 final score.
