Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Drops Continued Game to Suffolk, 2-6

Boston, MA- In a continuation from opening day, the Dean College Men's Soccer team fell to Suffolk University by a final score of 2-6. With the loss, Dean now falls to 3-6-2 (2-3-0 GNAC) while the Rams improve to 7-2-2 (2-1-0 CNE).

How it Happened (AUG. 29):
-To open the season, the Bulldogs wow'ed the Rams just 30 seconds in. Transfer-sophomore Ethan Henderson (Hartlepool, England) secured a penalty kick off a rush, eventually burying the shot to put Dean up 1-0 early.
-About fifteen minutes later, Suffolk had their response. Mohamed Mehaya found the back of the net, tying the match at one.
-However, less than a minute later, Ayomide Talabi (Hamilton, NJ) added to the chaos with a goal of his own. The unassisted effort now gave Dea n a 2-1 advantage.
-Suffolk would respond again in the 23rd and 28th minutes of the first half. Fransisco Valck recorded back to back scores to return the lead back to Suffolk, 3-2.
-Due to lightning and eventual rain, the game was postponed to September 30th at Suffolk University. Dean, however, would remain the home team.

How it Happened (SEP. 30):
-Entering the resumption, Suffolk came out of the gate swinging. Zach Vlachos would score in the 40th minute, assisted by Valck, to now give Suffolk a 4-2 lead at the half.
-Play would keep a consistent pace throughout the entirety of the second half. Both sides would trade blows, but it would be Suffolk running away with the momentum. Mehaya would net his second of the game in the 57th minute, followed by Christian Gardner in the 67th.
-The Bulldogs had one last gasp in the final minutes, recording two shots around the box. However, their efforts were thwarted. Suffolk would take the win by a final score of 6-2.
