Franklin, MA- The Dean College Men's Soccer team added a statement victory to kick off Homecoming Weekend, winning against Lasell University 5-0. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 4-6-2 (3-3-0 GNAC), while the Lasers drop to 3-6-2 (1-3-2 GNAC).
How it Happened:
-The opening minutes of the chaos brought chaos from both sides. Lasell's Sam Goncalves was issued a yellow card in just the third minute, followed by a yellow card to Dean's
Pablo Morineau Nacif (Redding, CT). Seconds later, Goncalves was given his second yellow of the match, giving him an ejection in just the twelfth minute of the match.Â
-Despite the ruffling, the Bulldogs immediately jumped into offensive action.
Ethan Henderson (Hartlepool, England) and
Nate Beturne (Ellington, CT) recorded shots on goal, keeping the pressure on.
Brian Allen (Fort Lauderdale, FL) shortly added to the jam after, having his chance blocked.
-In the 34th minute, Dean broke through. Henderson drew a penalty kick opportunity, eventually burying the shot in the back of the net.Â
-Just over a minute later, the Bulldogs added a second goal from
Clay Tyler (Attleboro, MA). The assist would go to his Attleboro connection,
Gabriel Cardona (North Attleboro, MA). After one more yellow card, this time on
Raul Maldonado (Spring Hill, FL), the Bulldogs would lead Lasell 2-0 at the half.
-Lasell would get the first shot of the second half, but Dean would get their third of the match shortly after. It would by Tyler getting his second on the day, assisted by Henderson.
-Dean would score two more times to seal the match in full time.
Felipe Castillo (Tampa, FL) would score in the 54th, assisted by
Ayomide Talabi (Hamilton, NJ). Then, in the 76th, senior
Justin Pequita (Windsor Locks, CT) would net his first career goal, giving Dean the impressive 5-0 victory.
Jake Godwin (Norwalk, CT) also secured another shutout on the season.
