Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women's Volleyball Swept by Rivier in Saturday GNAC Match, 0-3

Nashua, NH- The Dean College women's volleyball team was swept in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup with Rivier University, 0-3. With the loss, Dean drops to 1-7 (0-3) on the year, while the Raiders uptick to 6-8 (2-0).

How it Happened:
-The Raiders opened the first set on the attack, swiping it from Dean 25-7. While Rivier did score four of the first five points, the Bulldogs were quick to get on the board as well. Chloe Demaio (Needham, MA) launched a kill from a good set by Emma Siniscalchi (Huntington, NY).
-The Bulldogs would register three more kills in the set, all of which from senior Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, NH). Cooper would drive two kills herself, plus a block with Siniscalchi. Alas, the efforts came up short, as Rivier led the match 1-0.
-The second set would open with a different story. The Bulldogs would now be on the attack, grabbing the set's first four points. Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, CT) would get the first kill, followed by a pair of attack errors and a service ace by herself. Rivier opened the set with a variety of errors, helped the Bulldogs gained the early lead.
-However, things shifted halfway through the set. The Raiders would claw their way back in through a series of kills and errors by Dean. After three consecutive errors by the Bulldogs, Rivier would win set two by a score of 25-19.
-The Raiders would maintain their control of the match through set three. River would score nine of the set's first ten points, ended by a nice kill from freshman Nayah Alexis (Woonsocket, RI). Alexis would have two kills in set three for Dean.
-Dean would make a comeback towards the end of the set, securing four consecutive points from efforts by Demaio and Olivia Mackinnon (Plymouth, MA). However, a service error would end the match, and Rivier would come out victorious by a score of 3-0.

Standouts:
-Mackinnon (4 Kills, 11 Total Attempts)
-Cooper (3 Kills, 7 Total Atempts, Block Assist)
-Seymour (3 Kills, 13 Total Attempts)
-Siniscalchi (10 Assists, Block Assist)
