Field Hockey Trounces Gordon in Rain-Laden Matchup, 8-1

Franklin, MA- The Dean College Field Hockey team dominated Gordon College 8-1 in a rain-laden matchup. With the win, the Bulldogs now move to 6-5 (2-1 GNAC) while the Fighting Scots drop to 0-10 (0-2 CNE).

How it Happened:
-Similar to their matchup yesterday, the Bulldogs would be the first to go on the attack. In the games thirteenth minute, Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, MA) would find the back of the net, giving Dean the early 1-0 lead.
-Exactly three minutes later, Ramos would strike again, this time off an assist from Emily Yazzetti (Mahopac, NY). After the first quarter, Dean would lead the Scots 2-0.
-The remaining of the second quarter would be quite, with Dean holding off the Scots on offense. The Bulldogs would also get several penalty corner chances, keeping the pressure on the Scots.
-Coming out of halftime, Gordon would be the ones to break the ice. Kaitlyn Carlsen would find the back of the net, splitting the Dean lead in half.
-However, Carlsen's goal would be the only goal the Scots would find for the remainder of the day. The Bulldogs would then go on a rampage of six unanswered goals through the next two quarters.
-Emily Kilpatrick (Marion, MA) would find the back of the net twice, with both goals assisted by Katrina Lee (Brookline, NH). Yazzetti would follow Kilpatrick with a goal of her own, with Ramos grabbing the assist.
-In the fourth, Ramos would complete her hat trick, scoring her third goal of the game. Dean's scoring would be concluded with back to back goals by Yazzetti. Kelsey Blair (Carmel, NY) would pick up an assist on Dean's seventh goal of the afternoon.
-Ramos' eight-point afternoon brought her to 50 career points. She is the second player this season to reach the milestone (Yazzetti, 9/24).
-The Bulldogs would finish the afternoon with 15 penalty corners and 36 total shots.
