Franklin, MA- The Dean College football team was upended by Westfield State University in week three by a final score of 6-48. With the loss, Dean now drops to 0-3 (0-3 MASCAC) on the season, while the Owls move to 1-2 (1-0 MASCAC).
How it Happened & Scoring Summary:
-1st Quarter, 3:35 – Westfield State (7–0):
Aidan Patterson powered in from 18 yards out to cap a steady 9-play, 78-yard drive. Andrew Currier's extra point gave the Owls the early lead.
-2nd Quarter, 8:52 – Westfield State (14–0):
Quarterback Miles Foerster connected with Casey Tang on a 30-yard strike downfield. The 10-play, 85-yard march showcased the Owls' passing attack, with Currier's kick extending the margin.
-2nd Quarter, 2:21 – Westfield State (20–0):
Patterson found the end zone again, this time on a 10-yard burst. The drive covered 49 yards in 8 plays, though the PAT sailed wide to keep it a 20-point cushion.
-2nd Quarter, 0:20 – Dean (20–6):
The Bulldogs flipped momentum right before halftime when
K-Vorn Pemberton (Warwick, RI) scooped up a fumble and sprinted 71 yards to the house. The extra point attempt failed, but Dean grabbed a spark heading into the break.
-3rd Quarter, 4:30 – Westfield State (27–6):
Foerster and Patterson linked up through the air on an 11-yard touchdown pass. The Owls took advantage of short field position, needing just 3 plays to score.

With time winding down in the quarter, Foerster dropped a 21-yard touchdown pass to Will Brewster. The 8-play, 82-yard drive effectively reasserted Westfield's control.

JC Pena capped a short 24-yard drive with a tough 1-yard plunge. Dino Stellato handled the extra point duties to push the Owls further ahead.
