Franklin, MA- The Dean College field hockey team lost in their Tuesday matchup with Thomas College by a final score of 0-4. With the loss, the Bulldogs move to 3-4 (0-1), while the Terriers move to 5-3 (0-0).

How it Happened:
-The first quarter blew by in a flash. With only one penalty corner between either side, the pace of play remained clean and consistent. Thomas managed to get three shots off, while Dean's Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, MA) held their only shot in the quarter. After 15 minutes, both sides remained at zero.
-After a neutral first quarter, the Terriers began their pressure. Goalkeeper Allie Stockwell (Burrillville, RI) was able to make multiple saves, along with a defensive save by junior Shea Cassani (Belgrade, ME). However, Thomas broke the score in the 19th minute. On an assist by Maci Freeman, Leah Knight netting the first goal of the game, giving Thomas the early lead.
-The Terriers would score again right before the end of the half. Tatiana Roque would net her first of the game, making it 2-0 Thomas going into the break.
-Thomas would continue their momentum in the third quarter, adding eleven more shots on offense. They would also score two more times in the third. Caroline Hendrickson would net the first of the two, and Samantha Thebarge would score the second. At the end of three, it would be 4-0 Thomas.
-Goalkeeper Sara Gardner (Hampstead, MD) entered in the third quarter and shined throughout the second half. Her nine saves kept Dean in the game, stopping multiple attempts on dives. Kiera Houdegbe (West Lebanon, NH) also had a defensive save in the fourth.
-However, even with the strong offering on defense, the Bulldogs fell short by the 4-0 score.
