Women's Soccer Upended by Blue Jays in Saturday Contest, 0-6

Franklin, MA- The Dean College women's soccer team was upended by the University of Saint Joseph (CT) on Saturday afternoon, losing by a final score of 0-6. With the loss, the Bulldogs move to 0-5-0 (0-2), while the Blue Jays advance to 2-3-0 (2-0).

How it Happened:
-USJ opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a goal from Julia Loughman, assisted by Zoe Zappone. Less than a minute later, they struck again. Alana Picard got the goal from a nifty double assist through the box. Less tha ten minutes in, the Blue Jays led 2-0.
-The Blue Jays added more insurance in the 17th and 18th minutes, advancing the score to 4-0 over Dean. The score would remain the same going into halftime.
-Dean would gain some momentum coming out of the locker room. Shots from Kacie Consolini (Stafford Springs, CT) and Amelia McQuiggan (Taunton, MA) would put pressure on the Blue Jay defense.
-However, even with the continued pressure, USJ would seal the deal later in the half. Scores in the 62nd and 70th minute would make it 6-0 Blue Jays. The score would remain the same until the end of full time.
