Men's Volleyball Downed in Penultimate Match of Season by Lasers, 3-0

Franklin, MA- The Dean College men's volleyball team lost in their penultimate match of the season to Lasell University by a final score of 3-0. This now puts Dean at 3-22 (0-13) on the season, while Lasell moves to 20-7 (10-2).

The Bulldogs struggled from the outset, with Lasell dominating the first set 25-15. Lasell's offense, led by Jasper Schultz with 9 kills, opened the scoring, while Dean finished the set with only 5 kills against 3 errors. Despite efforts from Noah Allan (Windham, NH), who tallied 5 kills, the Bulldogs fell behind and dropped the first first to the Lasers.

The second set saw a similar pattern as Lasell continued to press their advantage, winning 25-16. The Bulldogs' offense continued to fight, with Arthur Felicio (Saugus, Brazil) and Allan contributing 4 kills each. However, both continued to struggle with attack errors. At the middle portion of the set, the Bulldogs came back from a five point deficit, tying the set 12-12. Dean forced multiple attack errors from Lasell, allowing Hunter Armitage (Westerly, RI) to thrive at the serve line and the attack to produce at the net. However, the effort wasn't enough, as Lasell regained their ground and finished the set.

Lasell's defense was impenetrable, with Remy Cahalan recording 12 digs. For Dean, Armitage registered 8 assists, trying to set up teammates. Mason Rua (Sao Pedro Du Sol, Portugal), also contributed in the set game for Dean.

The third and final set saw the Lasers seal the match by a score of 25-16 and 3-0. Jerney Price (San Antonio, TX) and Casey Dubois (Dracut, MA) contributed significantly in this set, producing multiple kills and Dubois adding with a service ace.

Offensively, Allan led the way for the Bulldogs, producing five kills at the net. Felicio and Price followed closely with four kills each. Rua finished the day with six total digs, which Dubois finished with five. Armitage led Dean in assists with eight.

The Bulldogs will play in their final match of the season this Saturday at 7:00PM, when the team hosts Regis College for their senior day fesitvities.
