Baseball Completes Series Sweep Over Gordon with Thursday Win, 4-2

Wenham, MA- The Dean College baseball team completed their series sweep on Thursday over Gordon College, taking the win by a 4-2 score. Dean now moves to 10-26 (5-10) on the season, while Gordon drops to 15-18.

The Bulldogs capitalized early, scoring four runs in the first inning. Jadon Murakami (Aiea, HI) reached first on a fielding error by Gordon's first baseman, allowing Bert Maxim (Teaneck, NJ) to score unearned. Nathan Suncar (Boston, MA) then singled to left field, driving in Rylan Secovich (Southwick MA), who had advanced to third, and Murakami, who had reached base on the error. The inning concluded with Suncar advancing to third on a wild pitch and later scoring on a sacrifice fly by Nick Amendolara (Bayville, MA), giving Dean a commanding 4–0 lead.?

Gordon College responded in the fifth inning, breaking the shutout with a single run. The Scots added another run in the eighth inning, narrowing the gap to 4–2. However, Dean's pitching staff, led by Styles Hucul (Anchor Bay, MI), maintained control throughout the game. Hucul earned the win, improving his record to 1–0, while Owen Critchley (Dayton, ME) secured the save, his first of the season.

Offensively, both Murakami and Secovich led the way, recording three hits and a run each. Suncar and Jordan Almendarez (Las Vegas, NV) also posted two hits each and an RBI apiece. Gavin Goss (Glenwood Landing, NY) also posted one hit.

The Bulldogs will now play their double-header with Norwich University on Tuesday, April 29th. Start times are set for 1:00 and 3:30PM. Game two will be a seven inning, non-conference game.
