Baseball Defeated in Non-Conference Contest with Framingham State, 18-7

Franklin, MA- The Dean College baseball team fell in their Wednesday, non-conference matchup with Framingham State University by a score of 18-7. With the loss, Dean now drops to 9-26 on the season, while the Rams move to 8-23.

The Bulldogs got off to a quick start, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Joey Bossinas (Ossining, NY) brought in two runs after reaching base on an error, scoring both Nick Amendolara (Bayville, NY) and Rylan Secovich (Southwick, MA). Shortly after, Tyler Giambra (Prospect, CT) roped an RBI double, scoring two additional runs for the Bulldogs. 

However, the Rams would quickly respond in the top of the second. After consecutive base hits, JC Espinal launched a three-run homer of of starting pitcher Domenic Brazeau (Warwick, RI). Brazeau would also take the loss on the afternoon, falling to 0-3 on the season. After the home run, the Rams wouldn't look back. Framingham State would score 18 total runs on the Bulldogs, accompanied by 20 combined hits. They would also go-on a seven run rally in the 8th inning, extending their lead.

Despite falling 18-7, there were some highlights from Dean's dugout. Giambra would lead the team offensively, going 2-4 with a run and three RBIs. Seven other players would also score one hit each for Dean. Most importantly, Secovich recorded two more stolen bases this afternoon, adding to his 30 total on the season and moving to 9th in the nation in stolen bases.

Dean would also see a total of eight pitchers over the course of the ballgame, closed by Scott Jsoeph (Fairhaven, MA) in his third appearance of the year.

The Bulldogs are currently slated to host Norwich University this Saturday, April 26th, at 12:00 and 3:00PM. This is also Dean's final Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match of the regular season.
