Boston, MA- The Dean College women's lacrosse team fell in their regular season finale to Simmons University by a final score of 14-4. With the loss, the Bulldogs finish the regular season with an 8-8 (5-6 GNAC) record and secure a berth into the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Bulldogs would quickly get on the board thanks to a pair of unassisted goals by
Natalie Peterson (Hudson, MA). However, the tide would drastically turn afterward. Simmons would score eight unanswered goals to take the lead, with
Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, MA) finally having an answer at the end of the half. However, the Bulldogs would go into the locker room trailing 8-3.
The second half would bring much of the same results, with Simmons outscoring Dean 6-1. The Bulldogs' only goal came in the final moments of the game off a shot from
Haley Gaunt (Johnston, RI). Alas, Dean would come up short in the end, falling by a final score of 14-4.
Peterson's two goals would lead Dean's efforts offensively. Both Medeiros and Gaunt would be the other two point-getters with each of their goals.
Shea Cassani (Belgrade, ME) ended the regular season with the loss in goal.
