Baseball Runs Away in Non-Conference Dance with Scots, 7-2

Franklin, MA- The Dean College baseball team ran away in their Tuesday afternoon matchup with Gordon College, taking a 7-2 victory. With the win, Dean moves to 9-25 on the year, while the Scots drop to 15-17.

The Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the board in the first. In the bottom of the first, Nathan Suncar (Boston, MA) delivered an RBI single, allowing Jadon Murakami (Aiea, HI) to score. However, that wasn't all. The Bulldogs would slam the door in the top of the second inning, setting the stage for a five-run bottom half. The party started with a Murakami groundout, pushing Tyler Giambra (Prospect, CT) across the plate. Rylan Secovich (Southwick, MA) then reached base on an RBI double, scoring another run. History would quickly repeat itself, with Nick Amendolara (Bayville, NY) scoring another run with a base hit.

The rally would be capped off with a two-run home run from Suncar, giving Dean an impressive 6-0 lead. This was Suncar's third homer of the year, adding another impressive tally to his sophomore campaign.

Two innings later, the Bulldogs would add their seventh and final run of the game. Amendolara drilled another RBI base knock, allowing Secovich to score.

Gordon would score their only two runs of the game in the top half of the seventh. Chase Demers drove a two-run home run, bringing the game within five runs. However, their run would end here. The Bulldogs would slam the door thanks to pitchers Jordan Almendarez (Las Vegas, NV) and Giambra. Dean would walk away victorious by a final score of 7-2.

Starting pitcher Spencer Lichstrahl (Fort Lauderdale, FL) would grab his first win of the season on the mound, moving to 1-2 on decisions. Offensively, four different players would tab two hits each for the Bulldogs. Three other players would also record one hit each.

The Bulldogs return home tomorrow afternoon at 3:30PM, hosting Framingham State University in another non-conference matchup.
